would someone explain how a double row of ball gearings could decrease horse power over tapered bearings. Even with two sets of bearings the surface area still much less than tapered bearings with no preload to speak of. How can that rob "HP"????

He probably meant that it robbed him of HP switching from single row bearrings, which is what comes stock. I just want the tappered bearring because they will last longer, take better side load, and are easier to work with.

I will agree that they will take better side load but they are not easier to work with. The bearing is not sealed, you to set preload by tighten the axle nut. it is easy to burn the bearings by over tighten (then you will lose HP). If they are too lose you can destroy the carrier rip the seal and get the bearing full of sand, mud water, etc.. Even when you set it just wright you have the chance of the axle nut getting lose and destroying it all anyway.

I think I'll stick with my sealed bearings.

You bring up a VERY good point. I never thought of that. I was actualy refering to ease of installation and removal. I do think your right, maybe I will go with a twin row set up.

Hey Ward, what's up?

Yeah I've got a LoneStar Racing +3" swingarm. It's a very nice piece! Double row bearings in a round carrier. I don't know how much you're wanting to spend tho. It's pricey.

ERaptoid I think I have seen pictures of yours, right?

I wanted to do it for around $500-$600, I doubt I will be able to so....maybe if I find something on ebay.

Thanks for all the help.
