Default banshee problem

it was cold outside today, around 30 degrees. i had the banshee out for a quick ride and i looked back and put my hand under the pipe, when i moved my hand it was speckled with oil. my bike is completely stock right now, and is jetted very rich from the factory. is this oil coming out becuase it is jetted rich or do i have a problem. any help is greatful. i haven't messed with jets yet, but when i pul the plug they are black, do i have a problem, or is it just way rich???

pleas help

hmm
well first of all your plug is spose to be a tan color if its black that would mean your jetted to rich so first before you start doing anything serious id lean out the jets that should make it run better 2
good luck i could always be wrong 2 i'm no expert

yea, i know i need to lean it out, but i have the pipes now so i was waiting to jet untill i put them on. i just hope nuthing is wrong, it seems weird to me that that much oil could be coming out the pipes, it seems to run reall good, but just has alot of extra oil being burnt.
could it be anything else other than too rich

Well if oil is comming out it isnt the jetting, it is more than likely an overmix in gas. But it very well might be rich. The jets are what came stock on the banshee correct? in the cold they should be leaning not richening. If you didnt change them then emtpy the gas tank put a fresh batch in (making sure its right mix) try it out for a few minutes and see if it is still speccled, no harm in running rich. just dont want to lean out if it is a oil problem

I would not worry, most likely just rich.

I get a nice little oily film around the tail pipes, and I am jetted pretty much on the button.

What ratio are you mixing at, I use 32:1 and it works pretty well.

toomey, will do

bat, right now i am running spectro at 32:1, but i will be changing to amsoil at 50:1. all jetting is stock for now, i just can't beleive that the jetting is that far off from the factory. it was freezing cold outside, and i was still very very rich. i just hope i don't have any serious problems
