it would be nice to meet people from the forums. and to race them, whew. even cooler. i say we try it for the weekend it opens.

 

I like sand riding better than trail riding. I think this other gathering is trail riding which you can get muddy so that would not interest me. Besides, when you go to Silver Lake in the early season you are not "patroled". The rangers don't want to get out of their nice warm booth at the gate. Plus, on the weekend they are just young kids. But, when I look out my window right now, I have a hard time thinking this snow will ever stop so I can ride. What is it like in Silver Lake right?

 

I'm from Mn and plan to make a trip to Silver lake sometime this year more than likly it willbe in May I,m also trying to goto Little Sahara in OK in april with someguys I never riding in alot of sand sounds like a great time

 

Where IS Silver Lake????

 

Silver Lake is in the Northwest part of Michigan. I live right on the border of Michigan in Ohio so it takes about 4 hours to get there with no stops. It is a type of resort area with hotels, cottages, camp grounds etc. From about Memorial Day until Labor Day it is busy on the weekends. When we go during the summer we go Friday night, get a pass to ride Saturday then we get in line about 8 am to go into the parking lot. We learned this the hard way. If you go during the week, a pass is not needed, you just drive right in. The weekends are the killers but if you do it right it goes smooth.
