Default WOLVERINE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know the stock main jet size for a wolverine? Also I installed a torque stuffer and the machine keeps backfireing... I'm trying to find out what the deal is with this thing....I have a 145 main jet in it, the needle is in stock position and when i test the plug its black with a faint white ring around it......Am i running lean? could this be causing the backfire issue? What should i do?

Yes white does mean you are running lean. I am not to sure on the torque stuffer because I don't run one.

Start here and it should tell you what your stock jet is.

To be quite honest I don't know that much about carbs, but I do believe if you raise the needle it will let more fuel in and that is what you want. I think? Sorry I could be of more help. Are you running stock exhaust?

if it's backfiring at 1/4-1/2 throttle, then yes, move the clip down to richen it. It it's backfiring right 0-1/4 throttle, you need a richer pilot, if it's backfiring at full throttle, you need a bigger main.

Default WOLVERINE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

well my problem has always been tuning in the carb.....I had also put bearclaws (front 25x8; back 25x10) on douglas 190's on it and it seems a bit top heavy (tipsy) on off camber trails. I also think yamaha is way behind in the times with this machine.... You would think that they would have at least made it a 500 motor and the ability to switch from 2 to 4 wheel drive by now. All time 4 wheel drive on this machine is old......You realy dont need it when your cruising down a logging road to the next trail head...
