Yes, Ive had oil leaking problems. First at the base of the part the oil line hooks to at the bottom of the tank. JB weld took care of that. Now its leaking at the flimsy joint where the two halves come together. The CFM one on ebay can be had for $159.00 it's a good looking tank. Rockymountainatv.com has the UM oil tanks for $179.00. Comes with heat shield according to their picture. The ones with the holes are more. Don't know if they are nessessary or not. The stocker has no holes.

I have the Pingry on both quads and run a steering dampener on one.

My tank just started leaking where the drain plug screws in. Its cracked right there on the bottom. Has anyone used the CFM tank? Is it a good tank?

Just what I need. Another problem with the Raptor. Ug.

Like Big Daddy, I just bought the cfm oil tank off ebay. It fits perfectly and I can tell a difference after 1 ride. The clutch doesn't seem to fade anymore due to the extra cooling. The only concern though, is how close the tank comes to the steering shaft. This may pose a problem for a steering damper.

Hey Raptordan.

I was just reading over this article at off-road.com, http://www.off-road.com/atv/projects/raptor2001/cfm/. They stated this: "Steering damper note: We have found the Denton steering stabilizer DOES fit with the larger oil tank and you could also use a bar mounted stabilizer like the GPR unit, but unfortunately the Hyper Pro damper will not fit."

I'll probably get one. The stock one is really a POS.

true, the tank fits w/ my denton steering dampener. i haven't had the chance to ride with it yet. but i figure, more oil has got to be better since it's for the engine and tranny.

The dealers around here would laugh at me if I tried to do that. They'd say, you can pay for the new after market in full and we'll be nice enough to let you keep the old piece of **** stock one.

mrbones, I visited the link you posted. That's cool that the Denton will fit, I'll be getting one soon. I just took my tank off, cleaned the outside with mineral spirits, and sprayed it with some high temp ceramic coating. The tank looks sweet!

I don't recall a warranty issue but if thats the case then, yes, do as airraptor says. I didn't realise we were talking warranty.
