Default More needed jetting advice

Yes, many of you probably knows what a pain it is jetting raptors. I have taken that carb apart enough to the point where i would rather go to a michael bolton concert than take it apart again. But of course it is impossible to avoid. I would just like some help on guessing what jets should be needed so when i do it I can get it on maybe the first try.

Pervious setup: 10.75 piston, open lid on the airbox, Proflow kit, Alba Exhaust. I was running 170,175. Yes i know that seems rich to a lot of you.

New setup: same piston, no airbox at all, proflow, alba exhaust, hot cam stage 1, valve springs.

So how much difference is that cam and springs going to make a difference?

Riz,I know exactley what your going through,I just installed a full mbrp system, stage 1 hotcam, and dual kn filters no air box,Im at 170/175 mains, stock pilots 3 1/2 turns out on the air fuel screw and fourth postion down on the needle.I think Im right on on the pilot and the needle postion but i beleive Im still running lean with the 170/175 mains.Everyone ive talked to says that sounds rich but i beleive the difference is the no airbox set up sucks so much more air. Its in the 30's in Kansas today but tommorow is supposed to be 60 so Ill run it tommorow and do a plug check and let u know how it goes and what i end up with.BY the way what is your elevation,im 850 to 1000 here.

OKay, im thinking i want to be 175,180 or 180,185 then. I mainly ride at 0 elevation on the coast. Maybe 500 tops. I dont have stock needles, they are thinner ones and let more by them. maybe just the 175,180 will work and i will pull the needles up some. I think im near the middle notch on them. Im not sure where my screw is at. what is stock? and what is a turn? 180 or 360 deg.

Riz,the stock postion on the needles is the 3rd clip down sense you have thinner needles the stock postion might be fine but you might have to play with that, when i says turns 180 is half turn 360 is full turn. When i adjusted my pilot air fuel screw I counted 2 3/4 turns till it seated for the stock postion.Im sure yours is the same but check it before u adjust out count how may turn till closed.Hope some of this helps get you in the ball park let me know how it turns out.

I wont have the motor back for a week or so. My freinds are trying to get me to go right after i get it back. My bike is torn apart at my parents house. Im figureing that I might be able to get home friday, spend all night putting the motor back in, lenghened swing arm on, new a-arms and shocks, and jet it and leave sat morning. I dont know why they cant wait till spring break. We are planning on 3 weekends in a row. Lots of riding.

If this helps I have a CT pipe, JE 10.75:1 piston, Hotcams Stage 1, no lid and K&N proflow, and running 190/195 mains, 27.5 pilots, CT needles 4th notch, air/fuel mix screws 1.5/2. It was a pain to jet.

but... I love my supertrapp..

I can just pull the plates completely off. They have a racing tip, but thats pointless. The problem is noise. My supertrapp is loud enough. With it open, its painfull to ears. That = ticket in oregon. Damn sand rangers and their stock raptors. I might give that a try though.
