Default Grizzly 660 Headlights....

Has anyone out there had any problems with the bulbs in the headlights popping out and falling into the bottom of the lenses??? I have a 2002 grizzly with about 700 miles..I was plowing snow when all of a sudden the both headlights went out.. After some trouble shooting, I noticed the bulbs laying in the bottom of the lenses...

It seem the bulbs have a mounting flange and the flange seperates from the bulb, probably from vibration...I have a friend who said his grizzly did the same thing the second day he owned it..Yamaha dealer replaced his, but mine is out of warranty..bulbs are not cheap...Yamaha dealer indicated this was a fix for 2003 models, but the new bulbs look identical to me......

I should have gone further into the forum (Dec. 9th 2001)..found out this problems been around awhile...Hope the new bulbs correct the problem...

Yep sure did, at 500kms mine did the same thing apparently the bulbs get to hot and the solder melts and the flange lets go. They are supposed to be better in the 03's have not heard anything yet. I just went to the dealer, only one in town and got some Honda ones no problems to date.

It happenens to all of mine. And if you don't catch it soon enough then the bulb bouncing around in the lens scratches it all up. So far i havent found an easy way to get the broke ones out. To get the lens out you have to take the grill out. Part store bulbs seem to be working just fine.
