Ah, sorry it just seemed kind of hard to read.

Gearing might help, what it would do is bring your rpm up faster and help keep it up higher, therefore you would be in the powerband.

I would probably bite the bullet and get the parts to make it work.

Sorry for the confusion. I dont ride mx, or that style, so other can probably help you out more.
