tire sizes for grizzlys
#1
I have a 2002 silver grizzly 660 and was wanting to go to 27 inch ITP 589s and was wondering if they would rub on a stock machine, and if i would lose or gain top end in speed and how much of a loss or gain could i expect over the stock 25 inch tires that are on it now any info would greatly be appreciated from others who have switched tires on there grizzly. and what kind of mileage can a person expect from a tank of gas under normal driving condtions. maxman2002,27's will work fine, you will lose speed and power, get a clutch kit, jetkit, pipe, and get the low end back but still lose about 5-8mph,the griz with the 25's will smoke the 27's in everyway except mud or snow and i get about 65-85mi on the 25's and about 15 mi difference with the 27's depending on how much 4x4 and LR is used my 2,get a set of each so you can switch off = itp 27"589's/25"atr's.

thanks alot hellfish, i am glad to know that i will lose a little top end and yes i will set up 2 sets of tires and wheels so i am ready for all conditions. I am going to set up a set of 27 inch itp 589ms tires and keep the stock set on rims too. Your views and comments were wellcome.

Hello again, i went and took a look at your pics and they are great, i intend to use my grizzly for deer hunting and duck hunting up here in north dakota too. I do not get out in the deep mud to often but i really get to see a lot of snow where i live . so i think the tire upgrade will really help.

I ahve 589 mt on my grizz and they rub alittle in the rear over the big bumbs but has not posed any problems I'm not sure what kind of mileage I'm getting because I always forget to reset trip when I fuel but I have had alot of full throttle runs out to the ice house close to 5 miles at a time and would bet that I could go inand out 4 or 5 times with out adding fuel but that is only 40-50 mptank I would guess that it is better than that I 'm getting ready to go and do some serious riding this weekend and I will pay closer attention to the mpg See Ya RY

thanks for the reply raptory, did you put in a clutch kit to help with the tires? did you notice much loss on the top end speed, I have heard that you can lose 5 to 8 mph off the top end and i was wondering if a person could get that back by reclutching it. I have 185 miles on mine and have not been able to get a accurate milage test due to using the 4 wheel drive so much in the snow right now . i am thinking of buying a fuel pack to carry on there to increase range. I really love this machine , and it seems to do everything i want it to and more i just need some better tires for the summer in the mud. Any more suggestions you have on increasing tire size and being able to maintain close to the current top speed would be well appreciated.

I ahve has the speedo reading 63-64 it keeps bouncing back with my dads Vinson around 61 so I would say it has tobe around 57-60 some where in that range I will have to test it via GPS in the summer....
