Bummer dude. That kinda sucks, but if I were you, I would still take my original advice, and try to get her involved in your sport.

When BOTH of you enjoy something together, there will be less friction about expenditures on it.

I don't know about California but here they offer 1.9% financing and no down payment which comes to 39.00 per month. If she knows that it might help.
For you other guys try "Honor you wife". It works the best.
You did say you were married so right after you take her out to dinner and spoil her rotten with a night out with just you and her (kinda like a date)Give her a present (Gold works the best) take her home and do what husbands and wives do... then ask her. THAT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starky is a moron......you just go out and buy what you want and you will pay.....good luck ever getting the time to go riding. Everyone else has the right idea. Get her a quad and go riding every now and then with her. There are plenty of nice trail rides that the wife’s will like. Even pack a lunch. Make her understand your good clean fun. Mine might not understand the money spent on pipes, shocks, cams, nerfs, tires, and all the extras we love, but the initial $5500 was easy once it was an activity we could do together. Don't worry, she won't want to go riding every time you do. Perfect weather, no mud, and maybe you will be stuck riding the nice smooth trails. Time with the wife is not the end of the world......I actually like it. Take the advice or leave it....two years ago I had almost no toys, and now I have all my toys listed below and a new truck to pull then around. I got them by being a good friend and husband.....not a d$#$head who just does whatever they want. I plan on riding with my wife till the day I die(sleds & quads)....sappy I know, but it's better then sitting around stroking to a combo or ATV Sport and Hustler.

Good for you 87RaceRider!

A marriage is a two-way thing.
You don't just boss your way around and expect the marriage to work out, or be pleasant.

Your wife is more than the woman you live with. She is your partner for life (hopefully).

Therefore, ALL decisions should be a joint adventure, especially if SHE is bringing home part of the cash flow.

I agree to this to an point.

This year I will make 4 times what my wife will make. She pays a couple bills and I pay all of the rest, If She had her way she would be driving a new Mustang GT back and forth to her $8/hr job. Does that make sense to me? NO. The Neon she drives will due just fine for the 3.5 mile trip to work, besides I've modified it with bolt ons and a few other things to make it run A LOT Better for her and she liked it. (Ever ride in a Neon that would do 130MPH top end?)

Some women will never understand how much fun ATV riding is to us. My wife thinks the $3,264 OTD I paid for a 03 Blaster was outragous for a quad, but she would have me spend $25,000 for a GT for her to drive to work. And that makes sense to her.

O by the way my wife did not ask or tell me about a dog she was buying. The total bill for the dog was a little over $1,000. A 2.5 lbs of Chihuahua/Toy Fox from Petland. And that makes sense to her.

If you want the quad then take her to the dealer and show her the one you want and the deal you can get it for. DO NOT BEG HER FOR PERMISSION TO BUY IT.

I was wondering if that was going to fly. Actually, I have a pretty understanding wife and we're both into the same stuff (hunting, fishing, horses and now quads).
Take the "get her involved" advise. Take a weekend and go riding together. Borrow someones quad if you only have one. Besides the Raptor, I have a TRX 300 4X4. Once I got the Raptor she wanted to go riding with me. They were short rides and verrrry slow (I had to gear the Rappy down) but we had a great time. She doesn't have a great desire to go on any long rides, but at least she kinda knows what it is all about. Of course I can never say "NO" if she ever wants to buy something friverless, but then she only gets to live once too, so why not.
