Default recommended gearing for banshee

what would be the stock gearing for a 96 banshee? i want to get a little better holeshot so i would go up a tooth or two. what gears would you run if you had realtors? or holeshots? for everyone who has a 01 raptor, is there any legal action that could be taken in regards to the tranny issue?? thanks for help

Well.... lowering the gears is only going to help if u can put the traction to the ground. I still have what I believe to be a stock rear, and 17 front. It sure as heck makes first gear more usefull, its not just brappp, and its over. You know what im saying? I have Sherdders, and on hard pack I can get a killer start. Id need something a bit less agressive for sand, but I can manage. Although I think the stock gearing is 14-41? Im not 100% sure, but those numbers sound right...

I have heard there is no legal action that has been taken, and have seen letters from yamaha just putting the gear issue off even after small petitions. It'd be sure one heck of a bill if they actually replaced those gears under warrenty.

yeah, the stock gearing is 14/41. i put a 15 tooth front on mine, and it's ok for drag racing. trail riding with it sucks though. on slow stuff, you either hold out first, or lug 2nd and 3rd. it's just like everything else in life- there's a trade-off involved.

Hmm.. I have never actually counted the # of teeth on my rear sprocket. I must have something a bit bigger than a 41 then. I can usually ride out 2nd in the trails or lug 3rd. I even have a 17 tooth front too....

hmm... I guess I have to count
