Default My idle changed

Is it common for the idle to change as the temp and humidity changes????
It has been zero to 20 below around here and the Raptor has run great. Now the temp is going up (mid 30's) and the idle has dropped way down. I turned the idle adjuster up so it would idle faster, but I'm afraid to mess with it for fear that I will destroy my starter. Any advise.

Well.. cold air is more dence, which means than with the higher temps, its getting less air, in theory. But anything Ive had usually tends to idle higher in the cold. If it changed suddenly, you may have a choke prob as red rocker said, but if it got lower and lower over time, its most likley the temp. But why have it idle faster? Things tend to kinda scare me if they idle really high, I had an expierence with an Old yz250 back when I was 12. The head was coming loose, and it would idle full throttle and would drive itself. Thus making stopping verry hard, especially when you can barely touch the ground.

check the spring in the choke housing- they rust out really quick. i've seen three on bikes down here where things just generally don't rust. it may or may not fix your problem, but it is something to check.

The reason it is idling slower does have to do with the air temp. Colder air is more dense. Warmer air is less dense. In warmer weather you will be getting less air into the engine, so it will be running more rich at idle. Rich at idle = slower idle. Lean at idle = fast idle. Try turning your idle mixture screws in about 1/4 turn each. That should help. Good Luck!!
