I agree.
Once I started wearing them, it was no problem getting used to them.

Now I won't ride without them. Even in the sand (which is the ONLY place I ride).

If you hit my Camera below my screen name and then hit on the Craptor picture you can see my full bore boots from 1972 sitting on the floor in the background and there still stiff but I am still walking and jogging almost every day. They have been a good set of boots. There older than most of the posters on here. I don't wear them as much as I used to but I don't get as crazy either.

Boots are an absolute must in the desert!!! Don't usually wear them in the dunes. I used to just ride in tennis shoes but the freakin' shoelace got wrapped around the shifter once and everybody in line behind me was swervin' and braking as I was kicking my foot around like a jacka$$ tryin' to shift. Anyway, that's enough embarasment for today...........

Welcome to the Forums Dancingqueen!!

Dancing Queen, I rode my first year with hiking boots. Then, when I tried the boots last year, it was great. I was taking those dunes without hesitation. It is like your legs become part of the bike. I was much more stable going over the whoops and I did not bounce around so much. When I would stand up to ride, which is alot of the time, my legs did not get tired as quickly. When we ride we go for eight hours at a time with a few breaks but not many. Definitely try some on, it will feel weird at first but practice walking in them around the yard first .

One or two rides with boots and they will feel like second nature. I never ride without boots. They have saved my fett/ankles more than once. If I were wearing tennis shoes I would have broken my ankle once or twice when my foot slipped off the pegs and got dragged under the rear tire.

Just like a helmet is a required piece of safety equipment, so are riding boots. Welcome to the forum DQ.
