Mine does the same. Appaerently thats normal but you should verify that youre jetted correctly. From what I hear, if the head pipes end up blue when cool they are getting too hot and the mixture is lean. When mine cool they are kind of a combination of copper/gold. Not sure if this is accurate or not but seems reasonable.

I just went out and took a look - the color is more copper/gold than anything. Not really any blue to speak of.

Your mixture screws should be 3 turns out.You will or have probably experienced a lot of popping on deceleration because your idle mix. is way lean.I think the directions say 1 1/2 but that is wrong. This will help with the glowing pipe also, but it is normal for them to glow a little at idle.

I put that same system on my bike and I went up on the pilot jet and I put the DYNO JET Needles in it, I would really try a bigger Pilot Jet,

The directions form Yosh are WRONG. Like others said, you need to turn the idle mixture screws out more. Try 2 1/2 on the L carb, and 3 on the R carb. This should be very close. It is normal to see the red glowing pipes at night or in low light, but it should not really be visible during the day. The popping on decelleration is also due to a lean condition in the idle circuit. This will clear up as you turn out the screws. You will know that you've gone too far out if your idle drops really low when you pull in the cluch on decelleration and the engine seems like it wants to shut off. You may try going up to 25 pilots. Good luck!
