Default Raptor Axle Nut - Help

Can someone tell me the proper procedure to tighten the Axle Nuts on the stock Raptor Axle?

It seems like no matter what I do after 1-2 rides they come loose. I didn't have this problem from the factory but recently replaced my axle bearings so I'm sure it is something I'm doing wrong.

Please Advise,

Jason

OK, heres what u do.... Get you something and put underneath the swingarm so that the rear wheels will be up off the ground. Next, thread the first nut all the way up against the brake hub and the put you a 50mm wrench or a pipewrench on the nut and rest the end of it against the ground. Next, get on the bike, crank it up, put it in reverse, hold the clutch in and rev it up to say..... 9 grand, then drop the clutch on it. There you have it, a tight axle nut. Simply repeat for the next nut. Have Fun!!!!

There is a torque spec. for those two nuts. You have to use a special tool for it to adapt to the torque wrench though. You also have to use a formula to figure out the specified torque due to wrench lenth ect. If you take some lock-tight though and a big pipe wrench it should do the job.

Check out this link. I bought this wrench to fit a 1/2" socket wrench or torque wrench. It worked well.

e-bay item seller is the manufacturer

The last thing you want to do is strip the thread on either your axle or your lock nuts.

Lock tight, plenty of sweat, and maby a bit of blood is the only answer.

If the axle nuts don't get a good cussing, along with some beer and blood, they will loosen right back up!
