Default stop making raptors?

I was wondering if anyone heard about yamaha stoping the production of the raptor? My cousin told me that when he went to a dealership near by that they told him they were going to stop making them and make a 426 or something of that sort. I probably shouldn't believe him, but I want to know if anyone can verify it? Thanks.

Sounds like a ridiculous rumor to me. The Raptor still sells like hot cakes at the dealer near me. Based on past Yamaha behavior, they will sell it forever, like the Banshee, Blaster, and Warrior.

Hahaha...i just got back from the dealership (had to p/u some parts). The owner happened to notice me and came right over. I asked him your question and he said no-way. Sales are great and as the post above pointed out...Yamaha keeps what works...for a long time. anyways he said a new quad is in the making...he says it will be a 450 then proceeded to pull my prts $50 worth...charge me $5...and thank me for my business over the years.

Through my leg around a Vforce 700 and he asked me if i had'nt learned my lesson with 1st year models yet...i told him nope...put my name on the first Yamaha 450...even if it is a rumor.

The Raptor should have been the NEW Banshee!! They should have used those good-looks, and new frame, and put an improved 400cc. power-valved banshee engine in it!!!

Then they could have come out with a 4?? MXer.

After the issues I have had with this bike I don't think I willl ever buy Yamaha again. There are now too many options out there(DS) to be worried with stupid problems that they won't fix. I also won't buy a first year model again, learned my lesson!!!

I think you guys are all wrong Yamaha won't come out with a 450 quad!!!!!!!!!!! The AMA legal limit is 440 thats what the new bike will be so you can go race them without doing much to them. If Honda comes out with a CRF powered quad thats what it will be too 440 just like TIM FARRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Scooty 400EX not too be an a** but Nordy is probably right the reason they would knock it down is because the AMA does have a 440cc limit on quads. If they don't knock it down then when people purchase them if they want to race it they will have to detune it themselves.
