Carillo Rod actually cause a loss in HP
It can't be heavy enough to lose alot of HP. The peace of mind is worth a 1/10 of a HP to me.
Got it almost tore down all the way. Splitting the cases tomorrow or Saturday if I don't find the time tomorrow.

14mins is the loss of power from the extra weight or being out of balance? You would be surprised at how much power is lost from being out of balance. It's been over 20 years since I read the effect from imbalance but I think it was something like: 1 gram 12 inches from the center of the crank can cost you 10 hp. depending on RPM.Again this is probably wrong but the effect is surprising.

erroraptor...do you ever have a clue what you are talking about? A carillo only weighs 7 grams more than stock? LOL
Try 100 grams. The carillo weighs 445 grams. The stock rod is around 345-350.
14mins runs kibblewhite springs..he has a stage 2 hotcam.
DSmike was talking about rotating mass on the rearend of the quad. Not in the motor. There is a BIG difference. On a car, 30 grams off the rotating mass IN THE MOTOR is about a 5 hp gain or loss, depending which way you go, heavier or lighter. Yes, it will give you better throttle response...but also more hp.
"Less frictional losses"? So a brand new tranny that is still breaking in..has less friction than a tranny that is already broken in? That makes a lot of sense.
Maybe you should call trinity and ask them about that Titanium rod they sell that carillo makes LOL

Stock rod weighs-
carrilo rod weighs-
Airraptor- I run kibblewhite dual rate springs always have.
Maybe the headwork is bad on the ones i was talking about. I have seen a lot of slow 686's. They all had one thing in common. They went with the carrilo rod.
My piston is about 30 grams lighter than a regular JE piston.

If anyone would like to know, Mark Robertson has done a few lightened carillo rods for Raptors, and they seem to be holding up so far. I know that Zombie has his lightened in his Monster 727. Some of the other compound members might have theirs lightened, too. I know that he got 55g off of zombie's. That's pretty impressive.
