Not to many people have a stock Raptor to be able to make that comparison.

I do not know many people that have a Predator either!

i have heard many things. a chart was posted on one of the members' websites a while back that rated a stock raptor at 75, but i understand that 72-73 is more realistic. dont know about the predator yet

I just bought my predator and my buddy just bought his 03 raptor. Before I geared down, we broke the machines in and decided to do a drag race test and a top speed test. The drag races were only won by the person who could control the wheelies quickest. Top speed they were dead equal. I weigh about 50lbs. more than my buddy, so take that as you will. But I felt the pred gearing was too tall, so I went 1 tooth taller on the rear. Now I can pull him out of the hole, but he has a small advantage with the better top end now.

i dropped one tooth in the front and it really changed the rappy. my cousin has a stock 02 and he isnt able to catch up to me until more than a quarter mile down the road, i think i lost about 1mph at top end, but boy did i get a big low end boost.

In the predator add that shows the bump steer chart they show a graph where it is goind 75mph and that is directly from polaris. They also have the raptor in that ad but i forget whaqt they had it as.

I have an 03 rappy......with a jet kit and a k&n.......my cousin has a stock predator........and I spank his ***........there is no comparison...........
I reallize that I have mods and he doesn't......but the differnce is too large......and I also just don't think the predator handles very well........feels like I am to top heavy........

My brother has a stock raptor and it will keep a strong nose on the predator the whole way.......
he weighs about 15lbs less than I do and we were the 2 driving all 3 machines.......and the results were the same even after switchin bikes........

read that the rappy is faster, but the mag liked the predator better overall, the speed were somewhat close so with mods who knows?

Raptorrrc ran his "stock 2001" raptor against the polaris dealers personal predator with a white/pure power slip-on. The stock 2001 raptor beat it 4 for 4 in 660 feet. At no time was the predator ahead. I have heard but not seen that predators run better without a pipe?? I do not know on that. The predator had a jetting issue or maybe they come that way?? We all took turns on the predator. 1 thing i noticed was it does not like to be shifted under power. I think they are fixing to have tranny problems like the 01 rappy. Overall none of the new sport quads can run off from the others. It is really amazing at how close they all run stock. It is almost like the manufactures made a deal with each other. I think most will be within 3 or 4 lengths in 660 feet

I believe in one of the mags that i got, maybe even dirtwheels, that the riders complained about the predator not liking to be shifted under load, even with the clutch. It may be a possible tranny problem, or at least an undesirable charachteristic.
