You'll need a harmonic balancer puller (available at any auto parts store) and an impact wrench with alot of torque. I had a small impact and couldnt budge the nut, I had to buy one rated at 500ft lbs to get it loose! I even heated it with a torch to no avail. The flywheel was a **** to get off even with the puller. Do yourself a favor and buy an allen head socket set. When you remove the one way from the flywheel you can attatch it to the impact wrench and that way you wont strip out the heads when breaking loose their thread locker.

i bought a harmonic puller at it wouldn't fit well. eventually ate the threads on the puller and returned it. what brand harmonic puller did you use? and where did you get it?

The bolts that came with my puller weren't strong enough also, thankfully they stripped off and not the threads in the rotor. I went to ACE Hardware and got some from there and they worked great. It popped the rotor off, I do mean popped, It popped off about 6" when it broke free. To hold the rotor still you could have a broken rod go through your case and jam up the crank so nothing turns. That'll make removeal of that nut and many others much easier, it also helps spread the cases from the tension the jammed rod will put on the cases. Oh, wait, that was my luck. Yours didn't desinigrate from under you, my bad.
