Blaster-200cc, $3000
400ex- 400cc, $6000
How does that make the blaster bigger and pricier than the 400ex???
What magazines have you been reading? cuz i've never seen that "pro line" before.
400ex will blow a blaster away anyday, hands down , no contest, period.

I just got a 2000 blaster and as much as I like it my friends have a predator and a 440ex and oh man they are so much faster than I am. I have done nothing to mine as of yet but I have toomey exhaust and some other toys on the way to try and help keep up but there is no comparison. The only up side to my blaster is that I spent under 2grand for mine and they are stuck with payments. Don’t get me wrong I love my quad but for power and handling if you have the money go bigger.

Thunderalley400ex- My friends brother just got a 2003 400ex for $5899 otd I was basing my post off that. I guess he must have gotten ripped. oh well not my problem

yeah he did get ripped. msrp on a 400ex is 5699, same as the z400/kfx400 twins. msrp on a blaster is 3199. anyone who has to pay retail for any of these quads now that they have been out for a while is getting ripped off. unless you live in alaska/hawaii or you are getting the first one off the truck in the new model, then you shouldnt have to pay that kind of money.

you got to be kidding me kid if you don't know what one would be faster you shouldn't be riding and since you are only 15 you shouldn't be thinking how fast you can go think about keeping yourself safe on one if all you are thinking about is speed then you don't need to be racing racing ha snothing to do with speed it's all on your skill level anyone will tell you that if you are looking at speed you are looking at a quick death trust me but you are only 15 so who am i

well, speaking to yer needs, i would recommend a blaster, as new as possible. you can move up later, but right now your physical dimensions say "BLASTER" plus the 400 ex is gonna get replaced [maybe this year, finally????] and you will find the resale droppin on you. the blaster is not in the same category, and theyve been built for over ten years now.
while the 400ex is a great machine, if yer on a budget, there's no prob gettin banshees little bro. check out websites and stuff and study this carefully, the 400ex may be the one you want, but study it. Since you are young, its important to get the right ride, just like at any age, you buy it, youre stuck with it so try not to make a mistake.

as for Firehawk, bring yer 400ex out here, lets race. you may be surprised. Nobody talked about power except you, and we're talkin with a teen on a budget. there's a $2000 handling difference between the two. Dont expect something less expensive to keep up with yer almighty 400ex. wanna race my raptor? I'll race ya with my blaster....
point being: we've got a young guy who wants to get into quading. Let's try and help him all we can, despite what written on our tshirts, or what's in our garages.
The Blaster is the single most popular amateur quad on the planet. If youre on a budget, and wanna have fun cheap, find a blaster.
theyre not perfect, and theyre not 5000+ either. But theyve been made for 11+ years now and always sell out. hmm.
If you can afford a 400ex, go for it! good quad. Do some research first, cuz yer close to a suzuki or a kawi, which are far more updated machines. If ya only have $3000 or less, its blaster city. and you wont believe how many ppl have blasters or grew up with one. It's like insulting the Model T Ford. hehe
have fun! and wear that helmet! ;p
