Default Thinking of a new Chain ?

I'm thinking of buying a new chain for the raptor I have a new 12 T sprocket for the front and thinking of getting a new rear 40? or 41? and while I'm at it I might as well get a new chain any suggestion? how bout that rear 40 or 41 mostly ditch bang or close windy trails I just put on 22" rear xct and noticed that the 12 will be needed. I also noticed that the rear tires are very close to the heal guards so that is why I'm thinking of going to a new 41 and chain that is not streached so I can have a little more clearance Thanks RY

You can go with a 12/42 gear combo with the stock size chain. No need to spend extra money unless you need to. That's what I did. I like the gearing a lot for woods riding. Take it easy.

If you get new sprockets you MUST get a new chain also. If your stock chain is stretched at all, it will cause the new sprockets to wear prematurely. If you start with a fresh drive system all components will wear evenly and give you maximum life out of all parts. I learned the hard way. I bought a new +$100 sidewinder rear sprocket and used it with the stock chain and a Renthal 12t front sprocket and I could see wear on the teeth of the rear sprocket within 6 hours of riding. Later I replace the whole system at once, and it is holding up much better.
