banshee or 250R
#1
I am going to buy a quad here pretty quick. I was thinking an early '90s banshee or a 250R, dont really care what year. What are some pros/cons of both, and which would u suggest buying. I dont really ride woods that much, mainly MX and sand.
Thanks

Well that only makes the decision harder. Banshee is the best for sand, R is the best for mx. R can be made into quite a dune machine without a whole lot of work, but the banshee takes a lot of suspension mods to make it mx ready. Power is not really something you can compare, because chances are you wont find a bone stock R. Banshees are still in production, so you could get a new or newer one, but parts are still very present for both. My father had 4 R's during his racing years, and I miss them every time i get on my raptor. The shee has a powerband like a lightswitch, boom, youre gone.
Both are awesome quads....but I'd personally go for the 250R. Ride both, see what you like, have fun.

your asking a honda vs. yamaha topic in a yamaha forum...i think the 250r is more versatile in most situations. Its easier to control, has more torque then the banshee, the power isnt so abrupt. The banshee is a good dune machine, the 250r is a better trails/mx machine. The 250r can be made to kick some real dune poon azz though
