I think FST (Four Stroke Tech) had some engine mods for your Wolverine, like a big bore kit, etc.

[I was thinking of putting a piston and a white brother all around cam or webcam, with a valve spring kit. I already put a e series silencer and whitebrothers powerfilter. Is the piston and cam a worth while mod? I want to go through the powerband stronger.

I have spoken to several Yamaha mechanics and they recommened a new cam, high compression valves, springs, blah blah blah.... The problem is that with all of this work ($500+ in parts, $500 labor if you have a mech do it for you) you still only end up with a 10% to 15% increase in power. Ultimately the Wolverine's engine is so underpowered that modifying it won't make that much of a difference. They also mentioned, in their opinion and experience, that when you start modifying the engine, your potential for damage is increased greatly due to the increased stress. I have thought long and hard about modifying my engine but I have come to the dissapointing conclusion that for the cost vs. bennefit, I am going to save up for a true Sport quad and get by on my Wolverine for now. I love riding the Wolverine and the autoclutch can't be beat but for really hitting the track and trails with fury and vengence a machine like a Raptor is required.

Install a good aftermarket exhaust, K&N filter w/outer wear. and a jet kit. Just doing that will wake it up.
A high compression piston and aftermarket valves and springs are good also, but the first suggestion is the better way to go. A lot easier on the pocket book.

A tip that Mickey Dunlap told me and I would trust him is that even if you have a stock motor that just putting in a set of race valve sprigs will help the motor rev up quicker and that really helps. A higher compression piston would help and since you would be tearing the top end off to do that you could go with a smaller overbore. Pipe and jet kit will wake it up along with an intake kit. Mickey can tell you all the ends and outs on it and is very helpful.
