Where to get Yamaha tools
#1
I'm doing some work on my 2000 Kodiak and need to remove the bearing retainer for the steering stem bearing. I have the Yamaha part number for the tool, called a damper rod holder, but no dealers I've talked to can get this tool. Does anyone out there know where I can get this tool or have an idea for something else that would work? The manual shows a picture that looks like a 30mm nut. I assume that it fits onto a ratchet wrench. Any help is appreciated.

Mark..I made my own tool to get the nut you're talking about out of my raptor. My friend runs an auto shop..and he has a ton of lug nuts. I took some lug nuts that are for a semi(or something big), found a wheel stud that they fit onto and bolted them together tight. It didn't fit perfect, but it got the job done. If you want, I can post pics of it later tonight.
