Warn 2.5ci and Kodiak 450
I'm trying to mount a Warn 2.5ci on my Kodiak 450, but don't see how I'm going to get it mounted under the bracket attached to the brush guard. With the fairlead plate under the winch it would barely fit, but with the plate under it there's no way to even get the brush guard back in the right place. Is there a different way to mount the fairlead?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Warn 2.5ci and Kodiak 450
Not sure about the 2003 kodiak. but i have a 2002 just mounted a warn 3000 on it, kinda of a pain
in the butt. i had to remove some of the winch plate mounting bolts to slide it in. it fits like a glove. i
slid it in from the left side looking at it from the front. the wiring was a pain too, i mounted the
contactor in the tool box under the seat. very happy with the install though. now i just need to get
out and use it.

Warn 2.5ci and Kodiak 450
I talked to Warn about this on Friday. The initial run or two of the mounting plate is missing the 2.5ci bolt holes. The holes in the plate are for the 3.0 only. Apparently they made a design change for the 3.0 to fit and assumed the 2.5 would too. After calling Warn and talking to a rep who contacted someone in the engineering department, I found out they're making a revision to put the holes for the 2.5 back on the plate. It'll be about a week before they have any inventory to ship, but they're sending me one as soon as it's ready.
There is a workaround where you bolt down the fairlead plate to the back holes then drill out the locations where the 2 front holes in the fairlead plate end up. It took me 3 drill bits to get through the steel plate. They didn't end up exact 90's either, meaning I could only get 3 of the bolts in, which I took back out again. My advice to anyone is to calll Warn and get the correct plate. There also might be a problem with the terminals being too close to the brush guard mounts and shorting out. Either the housing needs to be turned, putting the bolts front and back, or they might make another revision to that. It depends on how much variance there is in the brush guard.
If you're ever up in the Dusty Trails or Dunn Good trail areas, watch for 2 green Kodiaks, one a 400 and the other a 450.
