Whats this? Someones actualy doing what everyone says won't work? Why are you running dyno jet needles and mikuni mains? What made you settle on this?
With my current set-up, I went back too stock needles and lost my low-mid response with the same top end. No-one will take the time too dial the DJ needles in......the DJ needles are superior IMO. The DJ needles are very sensitive too weather changes.....10 degrees and I can feel the difference on my set-up.

Duneittilludie: Thank you VERY much for you statement, very helpful! My friend has a set of ultralites that I want so with you telling me that I think I will get them now. I just have the 8 paddle and all I do is spin my tires all the way up the hill but I still beat everything so thats good but I know I can pull another couple lengths so why not! I like hill shooting more than flats. We should deffinatly meet sometime and ride! My bike has stage 2 hotcam, kibblewhite springs, ferrea valves, craycraft port and polish, 12:1 comp je piston (13:1 when all together), yoshi exhaust, heat reduction coatings, and of course the 686 bore.

I know that you can mix and math but you better have a ton of time on your hands. That was my problem the very first 686 that i had. DJ needles and mukuni jets. At some point the needle will need to be changed. I am at 200/200 now and the next step is to find a smaller needle that will work from top to bottom. The biggest trouble that i had was when crusing around. Full throttle was okay.

14mins, go to a Harley speed shop. Many of the Harleys run the same Mikuni carbs and good shops have different taper needles that you can buy. go check them out. In fact, a good shop will have some carb tricks and mods that you may want to look into.

Reptar: I adjusted my air/fuel screws out another half turn and it didn't help at all, still got the babbling and loading up in the midrange and the problem when reving it fast from low rpm's and under load in a higher gear, it's still cutting out and not wanting to rev until I take it slow. I can't figure out why it's doing this...lean rich? AHH! lol any help would be appriciated! Thanks!
