I did the 01-02 complete gearset swap. Goes great through first three gears then will not shift anymore hoping for a simple fix?? Is ther something that could be out of adjustment? Double checked gears and shiftforks inside. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated.

 

Are you paying special attention to how the "shift shaft" is lined up when putting the clutch cover back on? I had similar shifting problems with mine after the swap and it was the shaft out of proper alignment when cover was replaced.

How can you tell if it is or not when the engine is in the bike, took the clutch cover off once to check clutch alignment and had a he#$ of a time getting it back on. What should I be looking for at the shift shaft?

Have you read Raptortranny.com? Go to the pages that cover the install of the shift drum, shift forks and make sure you did that right. Then go to the pages that cover the install of the shift shaft assembly and make sure you did that part right. It'll at least give you pictures and ideas what to check for.

 

Well I got it to go into 4th and 5th but when I downshiftit goes into neutral from either gear feels like clutch slippage but tried to adjust unsuccessfully.

 

Also it is nearly impossible to get into neutral running or not this is when the bike is stopped.
