after all that work

Default after all that work

after i replaced my starter and port n polished the head and put in new piston n rings i put the motor back in tha frame like any normal person would do. i filled tha canister with oil and started it after a few revs of tha gas it made a loud click noise and just shut off....
i hit the start button n it icks but its like theres no compression n it spins really fast does anyone know whit i did??

Sounds like cam gear bolts or timing chain.

well i think its the timing chain....after i get it back on how do i adjust the timing?

doubtfully the rod because the motor doesnt generally freespin with a broken rod

With the motor at TDC and no chain tensioner in put on the cam gear, and then bolt it to your cam in time. There are three punch marks on the cam gear, two should be parralell with the head and one above them to make a tri-angle shape.
