I would agree - I have jetted, filtered and piped mine and only felt noticeable improvement after doing all three.

Thanks for the quick replies. I am gonna look into getting these mods in the near future. Do you have any recommendations on a good pipe that is not excessively loud. I use my wolv to do alot of hunting.

thanks,

bighunter

One other thing is I am looking at improving the low end torque more than the top end speed. I want something the will really turn the mudders in the thich guey mud.

Myself, I would prefer the IDS, that way mud won't plug up the discs like the external types. bighunter, one mod that helps with bigger tires and mud is drilling a 3/16" hole in the ends of all the clutch weights to raise the engagement rpms to give more down low grunt for turning tires in deeper mud. And best of all, if you do it yourself, it's a free mod that really helps.

Big4x4,

I have the FMF Megamax II and it has performed well for me and it sounds great. I have not had any issues with mud in the discs but they are definitely exposed. Would you be adjusting the sound for hunting and riding? It is very simple to install and remove the silencer core that comes with the pipe.

I would be using my quad for riding. I was looking on HL's site, and they have a high performance kit for the wolverine. Anyone have this? I am either going to get the kit from www.albaaction.com, or the high lifter one. The HL kit seems to come with more goodies, but not too sure how the ids 2 compares with the megamaxx II. Thanks for all the help!

hey 95Wolv, about drilling those weights...
How hard is it to do that and how much does it up the engagement? I just dont want it to be a pain in the *** and snap in too high? do you notice a big difference with it or is it just a slightly better engaugement? it doesnt make a difference when your moving along anyways right?

CT,
it only raises the engagement by 400rpm, with stock tires, you won't even notice it, it only makes a difference when the motor is lugging under a load, like bigger tires or bogged in mud. It has no affect on the top end speed or normal riding, Makes me wonder why some aftermarket company hasn't put out a kit with weights and different springs for different applications. Hmmmmm, maybe a private venture is in order here.
