Any one running a BIG GUN on there Raptor????
I had a Big Gun slip on on my Raptor. I even bought the quiet core and spark arrester. With the race core and no spark arrester it was a bit better than stock and 10billion times louder. With the quiet core it was very mellow and not at all objectionable but stock raptors were killing me in drag races. I would hope the full system is more impressive. I now run the Sparks X6 spark arrested full system and the performance is night and day better than the Big Gun. It takes a small amount of bottom end power but the trade off for midrange and top end was worth it. It is alot louder than stock but not as loud as the big gun open core.

I had a big gun system. It gave good gains with my stock motor. The quiet core, in my experience, does make it quiter (95dbs) but it chokes it down worse than the stock pipe. The ceramic falked off and rusted within four months and Big Gun would not stand by it, I told them I was going to flame them everychance i got and they said "oh well!" I had it refinished myself and it look 100 times better than it did from the factory. (nothing close to what my new graydon looks like though bling, bling) Theres systems out there as good and better that have better customer service.

No, I didnt have an official sound check done on my sparks system. I'm sure it would fail miserably. It is however the spark arrested version and if I had to I could yank all but 3-4 discs and try to pass the test, usually I can motor right by the usfs guys without a problem. Hopefully they're just looking for troublemakers but if I get the ticket I guess I'll look for a quieter pipe. I understand LRD has one that is supposed to pass.
