Craycraft racing is having JE PISTONS make a new design piston for the RAPTOR. They are suppose to let me know tommorrow when it will be available and sending me one that has been lightened and coated. Anyone else trying one.

Bigbubba no worries. Craycraft is having them made like yours mostly. Yours was lightened and there will not be much difference . The new ones may be 6 grams lighter.

yes, i have. They are on the way. Will be in late next week. I can not give the info out though. Craycraft has lighten all the pistons in the motors like mine since day one. They are now having them made like that instead spending a lot of labor time on them. Once the pistons come in Jerry is still having to rework them and coat them before shipping.

Slim- You will make your deadline

Thanks for the info. I really wanted mine back together so I can take it to the race. I hope I see an improvement from what I have now. I'm still undecided on trying to get the coating on the head before then. I may put it back together with just the piston and go back into it later and do the rest.

I'm not sure of the exact price but according to craycraft the coating will be about 30.00 to 40.00 dollars shipping will be about 10.00 dollars and the price of the piston will be maybe a little more than the regular JE's for the raptor. I'm thinking around 160.00 to 170.00.

AIR- I'm going to let the guy that did my port work freshen up the valves and clean every thing back up like cabon buildup. He polishes the exhaust and comb. chamber to almost like a polished rim but not quite. What would be your reccomendation on polishing the valves, piston, and putting that last little bit of brilliant shine on the comb. chamber and otjer components. You know that smooth mirror look. What could I get to do it myself. I could spend a whole day polishing if neccessary or however long it takes.
