There are 2 different types of raptor sold:
1. YFM660RN (5LP1)
2. YFM660RNC California (5LP3)
The california model is the only one that previously was available for the Green Sticker, had different emission controls I believe. But my was purchased out of State.

I know my brothers 2002 XR 400 is a California version, when I did the research it's a different needle (really fat to limit fuel intake) and small jets. They choke them down to pass the emission test, once you change the needles and jets you're on line (performance wise) with the other bikes. It's a Cali thing I guess............

Here's the deal (California only). All 2002 and older bikes will now be green sticker. 2003 and newer non-conforming (emissions) bikes will be red sticker. I just received a green sticker in the mail yesterday to replace the red sticker on my wife's 2001 Trailblazer.

It also said bikes that conform to California Emmissions testing. I don't have the vin for our shee in front of me but I'm gonna look for the eighth digit in my VIN. I know Cali isn't fair about anything. This change is crap for people like me that have a 03 Banshee that has the same motor as a 87. :

Yeah I hear you Lowbowtie, I just bought 2 new bikes, 03 banshee, and 03 blaster I don't understand, It's the same motor for the last 16 years on both bikes. Seems kinda of unfair. Maybe next year when our bikes are a year old, they will give us a green sticker?
Also, I noticed that you are running exactly the same setup that I am, toomeys t5, pro design w/ k&n filter, are you running the lid or not, and if not what size mains and pilot jets are you running? I tried to run 290's with stock pilot jet and it fell flat on its face in the midrange, the shop guy at my local yamaha dealer told me to run 300 mains and 35 pilots, he said I should be safe. what do you run?
thanx for the info
