Default Red sticker law

Can someone please explain to me what this law means and how it affects my 2-stroke riding? My bike has a green sticker to 2005 but my buddy just got a red sticker on his and he has a 2002. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Does this sicker make it illegal to ride a two stroke period or just during a certain time of the year?.. More specifically I am talking about the areas around Octillio Wells, Gordon's Well and The imperial sand dunes...

Thanks

red sticker means you can't ride from may to october. but i heard it was removed and everybody should be getting green stickers. most rangers won't stop you because they don't believe in it as long as your not acting like a jacka$$. we ride ocitillo all the time even with red. no one has been nailed yet.

Yes I heard they have a grandfather clause up to 2002 for anyone with a red sticker will get a green one. I would check your local DMV and see what they have to say. Red means that you can only ride a certain time of the year and where I ride RedRock Canyon and Dumont dunes is where they say they check on that stuff. Never seen an actuall ticket from anyone yet.

I've also heard rummors that the state is considering changing the law from green stickers on 1997 and older, to "2002 and older years". Has anyone seen anything in "print" that dicusses this????? I haven't as yet found anything. I'd really like to find out about this as I'm looking at buying another Banshee and confirmation on this would really be helpful. That way I could expand my search to look at years up to 2002, instead of only up to 1997...

Billsner:

I checked out your noted sites and from what I see they only address the current laws/rules. Do you know of any site/link that discusses the "proposed new rules"?

Thanks... Rude Dog

I didn't have the time or the patients to read all that OHW jargon either, so it’s understandable.
...Just looking for a logical answer to all this bull.
