Where's the needle jet located?

Hey,
alright, i must be stupid or something, because i still can't get that slider out. the two allen screws have a pin that sticks up right in the middle of the screw, which keeps you from get a screw driver to it. how do you get that out?
also, there's no way for the slider to "come right out." it's attached to the arm. and the arm has a shaft that goes through it. so to get the arm out, you'd have to find a way to pull the shaft out of it.
i hate this 4wheeler right now.
thanks,
bigmac

Hey,
well yea, the needle jet is in the bottom of the carb. but the jet needle hangs down from the top of the carb. so to adjust how far down the jet needle hangs, you have to go in from the top. and that's where my problem is. i can't actually get too the jet needle to adjust him. and it's starting to make me made.

Hey,
i figure the only way to get the rocker arm out, is to remove the shaft that goes through it. any one have some suggestions for doing that?
also, the jet needle i located under the plastic piece in the center of the slider, right? so the plastic piece HAS to come out of the slider. i've taken the two screws and the spring out, but it still doesn't want to come out of the slider. any thoughts?

Hey,
well, i've still got the carb apart, but i'm ready to be rid of this issue.
even if i can get the shaft out to remove the rocker arm, i still have the issue of removing the plastid piece from the slide. what should be done about that? just try to force it out?
thanks,
bigmac

Take the black cover off the top of the carb (2 screws). You should see a black rubber boot that is inserted into the carb. Pull it out. You should see a grayish tab inside the boot that holds the needle in place.Take a small pair of pliars and gently pull it out. Be careful because their is a spring that you will loose if you are not careful. When you remove this you will be able to remove the needle and washers.Be careful to notice what order the washers are in. You will then be able to move the cilp position down to run richer or up to run leaner. Hope this helps.

Hey,
well, the info was right, but my carb just wasn't playing nice. i got a buddy to help me with it this weekend. i think the trick is to let somebody else work on your stuff, cause they aren't afraid of breaking something like you would be, lol.
i ended up pulling the shaft out so that i could pull the entire slider out. it then took some prying, but we finally got the plastic piece to come out of the slider. and after that adjusting the needle is simple. from now on though, i don't have to pull the shaft out, or the entire slider. you can just remove the two screw and spring from the plastic piece and it will pull out of the slider.
thanks for all your help!
