I like my Warrior, its fun to ride. But its heavy wieght has gotten me into ttrouble riding sand bars,, For trails both are good, the EX is more powerful, and the Warrior has reverse.. The choice is in front of you , for the price the EX would be it. But you should be able to get a 99 Warrior for around $3200..

Heres something to throw in the mix, he wants to mud. A 400ex WILL NOT MUD. At all. 400 ex is a clean fast bike but throw it in a mud puddle and you better bring a rope.

400ex WILL NOT MUD
Well that's not what i wanted to hear, lol.... I was thinking of putting some blackwaters or some other very soft terrain tire on there.... Majority of my riding is soft soft soft sand trails, the 3 mx tracks around here, are just pure sugar sand, I figured a good set of rear tires would be fine on the back, anyone know if the blackwater would be a good tire for sand etc.... Again heres the 400ex http://www.rivayamaha.com/tables/po009149.shtml It already has some unusually large tires on the rear....

I will definitly be going with the 400ex, I talked to the guy on the phone, I still have to go see it in person to know for sure, i'm 70 miles away so it's not as easy as taking a little ride.... I'll find out for sure on saterday, if it all checks out in my book okay, i'll be riding saterday night.... What should I be looking for when I take a look, i'll start it up, take a small ride, shift through all the gears, stab the throttle a couple times, shake the rear end and wiggle back tires to check swingarm and rearend bushings/bearings etc. Shake the front wheels, and the steering setup for worn stufff. That's all I got for now, thanks alot guys !!

HELLLLLO! Please put the crack pipe down and re-read the original post. You guys would rather have a 4 year old, worn out 400ex over a one year old Warrior? Yes the 400 has advantages. But not 4 years worth. Cry a little then walk out of the local stealership, you might get the Warrior down to $3699.
As far as mudding, put a set of Supper Swampers on Warrior and watch her rip through some stuff.
