Pipe, jets, pro design K&N filter. 22" haulers 12/41 gears. 01 tranny.

 

Do you think i could make it u p with my set-up? (02' raptor - ct full exaust, modified airbox(12 holes and no lid), k&n, jetted, 12/42 gearing and 8pdl. haulers and mohawks) was the sand in good condition that day because that stock rappy and stock Z make it up alright it looked like and on wyoduners website almost all the rappys had trouble and that 400ex was just .......... not to be mean, but pathetic so I cant see a HUGE difference between that and a stock Z

 

It was in July. Wyo's were in may I believe. The hill is steep. The sand was a bit tore up from the rails etc. Who knows what gearing and tires, jetting the others had that didn't make it. I had to go into 1st to make it. I don't believe I will have any trouble or have to go into 1st to make it now with my mods and 02 gears. I also weigh 250lbs. I think with your mods you won't have any trouble.

 

Alright I cant wait to make the trip over there sometime. About 14 or 15 hours for me Im guessing sucks but ya gotta do it I guess. Also I weigh 140 lbs wouldnt that help me make it easier? And I am savin up for a JE 11:1 piston and hotcam for mine. Thanks for the info wshrdskin.

I saw 2 videos of Raptors making it up, one was a girl on a Rap and she made it up ok, the video was taken from the bottom and Man, that hill is steep. There are videos of a DS, Banshee, and 250r not making it up so i guess the way you attack the hill has a lot to do with it. As far as us out East, i saw pics of a hill in Carbondale PA that looked bigger and almsot as steep as Choke Cherry and another MONSTER hill in Ohio, But they are coal hills and the traction is much better, BUT we do have some monsters out here in the East.
Yeah, i almost felt bad for the 400ex trying choke Cherry. Watch the second race of the Rap, LT, another Rap and 400ex and listen for the commentary at the end, Kinda funny.

 

I just watched those videos last night. Makes ya wonder what was so different between the raptors? sounds like you got some pretty killer hills over there. have fun later
