Chalk one up for the Yam guys VS. Honda
I thought this was kinda funny considering all the smack talking about Hondas VS Yams.
This was the start line a the recent Rock-2-Rock race in Mexico. The guy in the white shirt started us two at a time - I'm #395. I pulled the hole shot hard on the guy on the 400ex (actually a 440ex set up for the dez) as would be expected
There's no replacement for displacement !
I dont take the Yam VS Honda thing seriously - I like em both but thought it was entertaining.

Psyco,
The Rock-2-Rock race is run every May ouside of Puerto Penasco (Rock Point) Mexico. The course is basically pretty fast sandy desert stuff (not at all rocky) and covers a 100 mile loop. Since the cars and trucks use a lot of the same course year after year many parts are really whooped out - not like MX whoops - BIG, deep whoops created by trucks that really wear ya out. Rather than being technical, it's more of a wide wide open endurance type race. The dangerous part is trying to keep it together in the endless whoop sections at speed !? It's a blast and there is a big pre and post-race party, etc...
The next race in the Whiplash series that is down there is the Point-2-Point in December which starts near the border town of Sonoyta (MX) and Lukeville (US). It runs about 90 miles to Rocky Point and covers about 60% of the Rock-2-Rock course and there is some good rough, rocky sections that go around a mountain. These races usually draw 200-250 bikes and quads combined (mostly AZ and Mexico guys).
It's good desert racin
Let me know if you are interesting in checking it out.

Unfortunately, not me It didnt go as well as I was hoping. A 15 mile section of the race course had to be bypassed due to a land owner issue. No big deal.......well, the turn at the bypass section was in a silt bed and the dust was amazingly thick in that section. In the chaos someone ran over the course markers (wrong way signs) and I follwed a motorcycle guy into the 15-mile section. Unfortunately, this section still had ribbons and markers so I thought it was correct - CRAP ! I ended up showing up to the 1st pit/gas stop from the back side so I had to creep through the pits looking for my guys. So....I basically went an additional 15 miles out of my way. I got 8th out of 20 quads in my class. Not bad for losing at least 20 min. Iwas definately in the hunt if I would have stayed on the course - sh*t !
My time was 2:20 and the winner of our class (Steve Parkerson) was 1:57 and second was 2:02
That's Racin
