Default 1987 Moto-4 80

I'm thinking of buying a 1987 Moto-4 80 for my sons. It is supposedly in excellent condition. I have 2 questions:

1. Is this considered a utility atv or a sport atv. (I want something similiar to the Suzuki LT 80). I don't want a farm vehicle.

2. Assuming, it is in "excellent" condition, is $1,400 a reasonable price.

Thanks,
Quad Challenged.

MOTO-4's....that was my first ride...oh ya baby....

its not really a sport or a utility...its for beginers...and its a good one at that for smaller kids.
but 1,400 seems a little high....shop around. how old is ur son and has he riden before???

my first 4-wheel ATV was a Moto-4 80. it was awesome and solid as a rock. but it was solid in two ways.1) it was indestructable, but 2) it had NO suspention at all. other that the rough ride(but was still alot of fun) we had no problems from it, and my dad never had to fix it ever. but like i said, not having shocks can be a bummer sometimes. "lol".

Thanks for the reply. My son is almost 8. I also have a 5 year old, that will grow into it. Neither has ridden before... Which brings up another question.. Does this bike have a throttle regulator like the Suzuki LT-80?

it should have a screw on the throttle box that can be adjusted. screw it in, it goes slower. screw it out, it goes faster.
