Description:
For 3 weeks this summer I was fortunate enough to get to ride 5 miles to work each day, before logging another 35 miles on the "big wheeler"All toll, we pulled those "cat pads" over nearly 5 sq kilometers of ground and logged @ 850 kms on the skidders in 14 days (gps recorded)with 3 skidders. This is done to "plow" up the area where the forest has been harvested. So that new trees can be arial seeded to regenerate the forest. The bikes were used to move pesonal, tools, tires and fuel in and out of 5 plus miles. The trail we traveled was the winter haul road minus the frost that made them capable of supporting 145000 lb truck loads in the winter. We towed somewhere in the neightbourhood of 2000 lbs on the trailers behind the bikes without trouble. When I'm not doing this I enjoy ridin bikes and sleds, hunting moose and deer, fabing things in the shop (like the 2 trailers),drag racing my mach1 and thinking of ways to make (almost) any machine better.Ken
