Description:
The 400EX was race-worthy in it's day (before 450's). But to me, it is just an all around great trail quad for sporty trips through tight technical trails. There it can show off it's torque, handling, and quickness carving between the trees where all-out speed doesn't matter as much.
It would be the perfect quad for this, except the early models like mine lack reverse... and the air cooled engine they all have feels like it's going to melt your legs off on a slower ride on a hot day.
