the electric 4x4 box on my frame / motor
Hello , I'm new on here .
I have a 2008 700 efi 4x4 artic kitty in camo .
I have snorkled it and did a clutch kit .
I do from time to time get into some deep water .
I am having a problem with the 4x4 lil electric box on the frame or it could be on the motor , my arty dealer told me not to silicone it .. He didnt tell me why . .
This fact does not make my bike verry reliable on all day trails or week long trips .
Should have I bought a can-am?
What to do ? What to do ?

!st off, i also have a cat 700 and a can am 500. The 500 is a month old and when i washed it off after a ride with my garden hose and my thumb(not a power washer), it had a hard tme starting again due to some water getting into the air box. I dont have this issue with my cat at all.
2nd, is there a problem with the electrical box or do you just feel better about siliconing it? I have gone through water myself and never had a problem.

well since you snorkeled it the warrenty is gone, shouldnt need to silicone the box, wouldnt hurt to put dielectric grease in the plug in, if water is getting in between the box halves you could silicone it, i only mentioned the warrenty thing because it cant hurt to silicone it since you dont have a warrenty any more, it may have been out already, i have the same exact machine and mine would still be underwarranty if i would not have snorkeled it. i have had it in water over the racks and not had any 4-wheel drive issues, i hope you get your problem solved, i think these are awesome machines and would not trade mine for a can-am, or any other quad for that matter. i would like to see some of your snorkel pics if you have any just to see hows yours is done. good luck!!
