Need help troubleshooting 2003 400 4x4
I have a '03 400 Auto FIS 4x4 that is having an issue when it gets warm. It will start fine and run fine for about 15-20 minutes and then it will practically shut down. It will still idle, I can shut it off and it will start right back, but it will not come off of idle. It sounds like it is missing and will not go above idle. I thought the first time it happened that I had fouled a plug but that wasn't the problem. I can shut it off for 5-10 minutes and it will start back up and run maybe 1-2 minutes before it does the same thing. I have replaced the air filter and spark plug. I also have a new battery in it.
I am thinking that maybe the coil is going bad and the heat from the engine is messing with it since it is mounted right above the engine.
Anybody seen this before?? The forecast is for 8-18" inches of snow so I really need it running correctly or I am going to have to be very patient pushing snow.
