carb rebuild is a good idea, but also throttle cable and any electronics related to throttle (you didn't provide make/model so hard to help further)...

It's a 2004 Artic Cat 400 4x4 Auto.

access to service manual is (choose 2005 folder):
http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Arct...rvice-Manuals/

From your description sounds like fuel is not getting into the carb bowl or your float needle is stuck closed...

thanks for the info, i rebuilt the carb cleaned the fuel system added a fuel filter, and it is running great i put 50 miles on it yesterday, can you tell me about how many miles per gallon these get, it seams with the cvt trans that these units will burn more gas then normal unless somebody knows different, next i will change oil and filter and ride, thanks for any input on my atv

Those are a stout machine, I have the manual shift version. I've noticed that my mpgs got better after installing a "Dynojet Stage 1 kit", power too, I can hit 57 mph now, before 52. Keep an eye on the boot between air box and carb, if they crack, can run lean and injest water and mud. If you need wheel bearings try to find the Koyo ones, not Chinese.
