Default How do I Winterize

What needs to be done to my quads to ready them for winter riding?
What about winter storage?

Thanks in advance for your tips and suggestions

Change to thinner oil to help with cold start ups. If carbed, turn out the mixture screw 1/2 turn and tinker with it if you have to. Keep battery on a maintainer.

For long term storage, add stabilizer in fuel, run it to normal operating temps. Fog the carb and down cylinders. Over inflate tires. Keep covered. Store battery indoors and charge periodically.

When I had an old ATV with a carb I always had to turn the idle up in winter and back down in the fall. I didn't do anything else to get ready for winter riding. I run 0w-, 5w- or 10w- oil all year.

For winter riding, I usually just wait the 3 weeks till it's over.

Are winters are just to brutal for any ATV to go very far, unless it has those snow tracks.

ATVs do not replace snowmobiles up here. We already had 3 school day closing and a few highway closures and it only mid Nov.
