Good looking boat.. I gotta get my son's pontoon ready for spring pretty soon. Time to drop the lower end in the Yamaha outboard and replace his water pump. Man I wish those things were made out of stainless steel or aluminum instead of hard rubber, but best to change one when they're a few years old rather than have one fail out on the lake. Then it would be bad news.

You got that right, my boat is stored in my barn and trailered when I use it so I replace my impeller at 3-4 yrs as well. Fortunately the old ones have looked as good as the new ones so I have been lucky and think I might stretch it to 5 yrs. My boat is a 1983 with original engine and outdrive. This spring I am going to pull the head and have the valves seated and replace the head gasket as I started picking up a rough idle and have low compression between 2-3 cylinders (4 cylinder). Now that I am semi retired, if the weather is good I will either be fishin or ridin! Now just need to find someone with my interests that has the time I have.
