Default Upgrading from Scrambler

I am selling my scrambler 500 and want to get something like a sportsman. I like the sportsman 570's. What else is out there that is similar in price and 4x4?

Can-Am has the Outlander L. It's an entry level priced machine. Outlander L | Can-Am I don't care for the OEM tires. They're pretty wimpy. Guys I've talked to with the Sportsman 570 like them.

The Polaris Sportsman 450HO is priced below any of them. It has the same 570 engine as the Sportsman 570 but is tuned to make a little less power. The Outlander L series are nice as Moose said. Even the 450L, it has plenty of punch for a 450cc machine. A friend of mine has one and he's a bigger guy(about 280 lbs) and he loves it.

The Sportsman 570 would be a good upgrade in power over the 500. The 500s were something like 36 HP and the 570 is 44. The 450 H.O. is a lot less power at only 31 HP. The $600 difference in the price would be worth it to me to get the 570. Yamaha makes good quads too but the Grizzly 550 is $1,400 more than the Sportsman 570.

Yamaha quit making anything other than the Kodiak 700 and Grizzly 700, both 708cc models, starting with model year 2016. The base model Kodiak 700 has 48 hp and I have seen them priced at about $6000 new so its not much more expensive than the Sportsman 570. If you can still find a leftover 2015 Grizzly 700 with the 686 cc engine in it at a dealer near you, you might be able to score a deal on one of those. I few of them were still available recently but it appear all of them and any leftover Grizzly 550 models are all gone. Its unfortunate that Polaris doesn't offer the new Scrambler in a 570cc model. The 850cc and 1000cc models have great power but if they offered a 570cc scrambler at a reduced price, it would sell like crazy.

You're right about them only having the Grizzly 700 and Kodiak 700 now and 2015 was the Grizzly 700 only. I went back to their website and they're still listing 2014 and 2015 models. So maybe you can get a 2014 Grizzly 550 for $7,999 but a 2016 Sportsman 450 is $2,000 cheaper and 2 years newer.

One of my local dealers was selling the leftover 2014 and 2015 550 and 700 Grizzly models for pretty low prices to clear out the old inventory. I could have bought a brand new 2015 Grizzly 700 with eps for just over $7000 recently if I would have wanted to. The 550 with eps was going for $6500. The new Kodiak 700 with eps was also about $7000. But you have to step up to the SE Kodiak 700 to get diff-lock so I think the previous generation Grizzly 700 brand new for the same price was a better deal.

Just to let everyone know, i ended up getting a base 570, orange. I got it out the door for $5,980 i though that was a good deal.

Went ahead and installed a polaris 3500lb winch as well.

That sounds like a good deal to me. The 570 has more power than the old 600 twin had so you should feel the difference in power from your Scrambler. The ride should be a lot smoother too. If I was buying a new quad right now I'd probably get the 570 with EPS. I haven't heard anyone yet with EPS that doesn't like it.

i liked the power steering but didn't think it was worth the extra $800. Ive gone my whole life without it so i wont miss it. It seems like just another electronic component that could fail.
