Default TRX 90 Shifting Problem

My '02 trx 90 seems to be hit or miss when I try to switch gears. I can be lifting up or pressing down on the shift lever while riding but the trans remains in the same gear. Oil level is good, shift lever is not hitting the pull start housing, I tried adjusting the "set screw" on the opposite side of the engine (no help).

Seems to me like the issue is internal. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the resolution?

Thanks

I didn't realize that these semi-automatic quads had adjustable clutches.

The procedure is in the owner's manual. You have one???

Better yet, a service manual.

This is the procedure. It is for a 420, but the principle is the same. Look for a slotted screw (can't for the life of me remember where it is, and I am not at home) with a lock nut.
