for a 2001 with those mods, it still seems kind of expensive. If your really interested in this bike, I would think you should try for 6k if not lower. Honda's website's info shows a new 2001 400ex priced at $5,699. Now the blue book or whatever shows a stock 2001 400ex priced at around $4,000-$4,500 (or so my friend says) And im sure that if he has all those mods, he probably invested in a K&N aswell perhapse, and other common simple mods. And the douglas rims if I'm correct are like over $100 a pop, shocks = couple hundred also, I'm not sure about pep shocks but I know some sets can be up to $500. And tires cost maybe $150 for a set so overall I think a good price should be right around $5,500-6,000.

Anyhow just my 2 cents. I could be completely wrong. Hope it helps even a little.

Whoa that wasn't there when I started that other post, so My calculations are probably way off. Because Im sure that steps the price up a lot. Although I have no idea what a TC motor kit does... lol If its a great bike tho purchase it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

I know thats got a lot of stuff on it but really think before you spend so much if you really need so much extra stuff when u can get a stock 400ex thats a 2001 for around 4400 or so, but if you race or just want it its not a bad deal but i'd lower it like 300 or so on him. I'm sure he'll do it.

I have a very mint, bone stock (well a 14 tooth front), hardly used, always garaged, 2000 400ex for sale in the Cincinnati area with a new Fox helmet (large). I am asking $4300 (neg.). I am pretty sure you can buy his mods new, for less than the $2200 difference. Let me know if you'd like to come look at it, have any questions or anything. Just a thought. Happy hunting, regardless. That TC motor is possibly more than $2000 alone depending on if it is a full kit or not. TC uses a Lectron carb which is cheaper than the FCR, but if this guy let Tom Carlson do all the work and it is a full kit I am sure it costs at least $2000 for the motor alone.

Just because a quad has alot of expensive stuff on it doesn't make it a good deal. When 4 strokes get all modded up like this one probably is things go south quick, and if this guy put all this stuff on it he probably raced it alot.
