The reason that I would like to know something is that we (AMA/ATVA) meet the 1st of Oct to make changes in the rules for the AMA/ATVA. If there are no new quads being brought out of 450cc the size limit for 4-strokes will stay at 440 for all of next year. But, if something is coming for sure it will get rasied. I guess we will wait till next week for word from Honda and Yamaha we can only guess.

Well, Yamaha made announcements for their entire 2003 lineup a few months ago. They will not be announcing anything else until next summer.
Yamaha, Bombardier, and Polaris are the only OEMs who have their dealer meetings at their convenience rather than a specified time.
Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki always have their meetings during the first two weeks of September.
It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

tprender- Vote to move the displacement up to 450cc for 4-strokes. I think alot of people will be mad but at the same time alot will be happy.
Also, vote to have a FULL TIME referee all year long. The head ref should also have a full time back up to help. If the track promoters do not want to pat a lousy $600 they dont need to have a National.
Do you know of any other changes that will be proposed for next year? If so, please let me know. Thanks.

I am in favor of leaving the limit at 440 if there is not any new quads out by then of that size. If Honda or someone else is going to release a 450 by spring change the limit to 450, but we must know by Oct. The reason that I want to leave the limit at 440 is why move it so that a person can put a M/C engine in a quad at the Nationals. I think that the C class will be changed forsure. The OEM limit will be 450cc I think? The other classes I have heard of some ideas but nothing forsure. The ref idea has been talked about, and I don't know what is going to happen. If you want the job or know of someone it is theres. I am not going to do all of them again.

No I dont want the job, I race at all of them. I think you should have the job but I can see why you wouldnt want it after all that has happened this year.
But I am also in favor of letting the M/C engines stay, but also having a production class. If the OEM limit is set at 450 the non OEM class should be the same.
