Default '05 trail boss 330 idles but wont rev up

I'm at my witts end with this thing, it'll start up and idle just fine and it'll even idle up a little when i push on the throttle but if i give it more it'll just die out and i can let off and it'll idle again just fine, so first off i took apart the carb cleaned it out real good (it had gel in the bowl) blew out with carb cleaner and compressed air then put it back together and the same thing. If i put my hand over the air horn (where the air filter goes) and just barely restrict air flow it'll rev up. All the fuel lines are ok, not kinked, new filter. Any help is greatly appreciated

If you can put your hand on the back of the carb and it picks up,you still usually have carb problems! OR can have a cracked intake boot causing a lean condition. What you are doing is blocking off air, allowing more fuel. If you didn't take the jets out and MADE SURE you could see through the main and especially the pilot jet, plus was the needle valve replaced(needle and seat as most people call em)??(could block fuel flow if sticking) The 325 and 330 engines are set lean any way from the factory and any small blockage can cause problems,PLUS they have to have the air filter and box back on and can cause the same thing with out it,bogging, won't take throttle. Just retrace your steps. keep us updated. PLUS welcome to the forum!! OPT

welcome to the forum. as otp mentioned the small air passages and jets are very important to have perfectly clean as therevery small and wouldn't take much to block. double check these to make sure they are no the issue w/ the lean condtion you described.

Thanks opt, you are awesome!! I never thought of putting the box and filter back on but that was it, now she's running like a top. Much appreciated!
